So after rambling so much I wanted to hear your thoughts on whatever might be going on with the body your consciousness isn't in during the ending. So you're a villain now? Let's see if you survive the experience.įallen Hero: Retribution is a 1.45-million word interactive superhero novel by Malin Rydén, where your choices guide the story. The puppet experiences such fear that they are forced to run away, this is explained further in the epilogue in which it's said they went through more than half the city in order to escape whatever's ocuppying the MC's body Suddenly the MC's body will wake up, opening their eyes, muttering the puppet's name (chosen by the player, not Ace) and trying to reach out to them After watching over the MC's body after the rescue, the puppet will start to feel dread and fear, along with snippets of text telling them to run away, in a very similar fashion to the encounter with Shroud Soo, after all of this rambling, i wanted to go over what happens during the endingĪfter finding out the puppet's backstory, you get more snippets of text regarding future ocurrences as if they were visions of the future. This might be due to me having a high puppet individuality stat, but also it's possible to select an option in which words slip out of your mouth as the puppet while talking to Shroud, especifically the puppet referring to her as "sucker" If we encounter Shroud as the puppet we'll get narrative detailing a deep sense of dread and fear that is not experienced if you meet Shroud as your villain persona. > Fun fact: during the reveal sequence the narrative alludes to the possibility of the MC attempting to restore Ace's consumed consciusness in the future, although the MC isn't sure if they would actually be able to pull that off They used this ability in order to win a fortune in gambling, which cost Lord Ember a lot of moneyĪce was eventually kidnapped by Shroud, one of Lord Ember's closest associates who also is a tactile telepath, able to kill people by touching them as she consumes their consciousness, learning their secrets as she digests her "meal"Īce was killed by Shroud in this manner, explaining why we, as the MC, find their comatose body without any signs of having a conscience or anything remotely similar The puppet was formerly known as Ace, a boosted gambler who seems to have some degree of clairvoyance. ![]() In this ending some interesting things happened, but first some explanations for the people who are curious about the puppet's backstory and also why the hell i'm rambling so much about this: Puppet stayed in order to watch over my MC's body in their base Broke into the hospital with Bo, followed the flashing lights, managed to knock out Steel and break the MC's body with the surgeon's help >During the playthrough I investigated the puppet's backstory as much as possible (sending the puppet to the auction, meeting Shroud as both the puppet and my villain persona, asking Mortum to look into Shroud and finding out about the puppet's past) ![]() Woke up as my puppet after the crash, I have a high puppet individuality stat Didn't reveal my villain identity to anyone nor I was outed as the villain during the ending Visited Hollow Ground as my Sidestep and refused his offer (even kicked him on the face) Soo, has anyone gotten the ending in which after the car crash you wake up as your puppet and succesfully retrieve your main body from the hospital without the puppet getting arrested and without Mortum's assistance?
